What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Veterinary physiotherapy uses extensive anatomical. physiological and functional knowledge to enhance rehabilitation, performance and general maintenance. The main focus of any treatment is the well-being of the musculoskeletal system, achieved through continuous professional development and scientific research. A range of techniques can be applied to achieve the benefits of physiotherapy including both manual techniques, electrotherapies and exercise prescriptions.

Treatment

Physiotherapy combines many manual techniques including massage, trigger point release, myofascial release, positional release, range of motion, joint mobilisation, joint manipulation, veterinary kinesiology and exercise prescriptions.


We also offer a range of electrotherapies including;

  • Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy
  • Low level laser therapy
  • Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation
  • Neuromuscular electrical stimulation
